I began to search around for something bigger. Of course the bigger the stroller the more expensive, plus larger strollers are only made for special needs kids. There are many moms who recommend a number of different large strollers, but the dollar signs just kept ringing in my ears. Here's an example of a great one, holds up to 90 lbs (that could last through elementary school), and extra support padding for that low muscle tone issue...but yo...check that number...$5495. Exhibit B:
I wasn't settling with that, I kept looking and didn't want to compromise on any of the features but was no way dropping 5K on a stroller, what the heck is that thing made of, gold? So after reading the manuals of a few dozen strollers, here's what I found!! It is the Special Tomato EIO Pushchair (same features, holds up to 90 lbs, has little side pillows for support, plus all the bells and whistles of a nice stroller) and the price I paid for it, drum roll please...RLRLRLRL...$474 (on sale I might add, originally $822). Moral of the story - research the "other SH word" out of something you really want. Finally, Exhibit C, Ellie's new stroller:
Leg support kicks up for relaxing, and the back reclines all the way for naps or diaper changes, yippee.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! this stroller is PERFECT for Elli!!! im so glad you found one that works for her :)

I know I'm totally excited to go walking now since her feet will stay in the stroller and not on the wheels or on the ground lol.
DeleteThis is awesome Mindy! There is a network called I think something Rainbow where some friends of ours with boys who have CP were able to get a lot of this type of special needs stuff...might be worth checking out
ReplyDeleteYeah I'll have to check it out, I'm always searching for good resources! Thanks.
